Daniel McElyea, 18th Missouri, died in St. Louis the week ending Monday last (13 Jan 1862?).

William Brown, 18th Missouri, died in St. Louis the week ending Monday last (13 Jan 1862?).

William N. Bennett was stabbed to death in Jefferson County, one or two weeks ago by John Lynch.

 

25 Jan 1862:

Assistant surgeon of the 7th Iowa died in a train accident at DuQuoin Wednesday night (22 Jan 1862).

 

1 Feb 1862:

William Kersey of Capt. Stewart's Cavalry died 28 Jan 1862, at Mound City, Pulaski County. (See also 1 Mar 1862, issue.)

 

15 Feb 1862:

Capt. George H. Lemley died of consumption at St. Louis last Monday (10 Feb 1862).

 

1 Mar 1862:

L.D. Craig, of Johnson County, was poisoned at Ft. Donelson.

Jerome Provo was killed at Ft. Donelson. (See also 15 Mar 1862, issue.)

John Emery was killed at Ft. Donelson.

J. Crane was killed at Ft. Donelson.

Marion Anderson was killed at Ft. Donelson.

A.G. Burton was killed at Ft. Donelson.

John Cole was killed at Ft. Donelson.

Joseph Patterson was killed at Ft. Donelson.

William Morgan was killed at Ft. Donelson.

James Dyer was killed at Ft. Donelson.

David Williams was killed at Ft. Donelson.

E. Dilday died of wounds received at Ft. Donelson.

Martin Sumner died of pneumonia Wednesday morning (12 Mar 1862).

 

22 Mar 1862:

Col. Hendricks, of the 26th Indiana, was killed at the Battle of Pea Ridge.

 

29 Mar 1862:

Carrie Belle Craver, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth A. Craver, aged 4 years, 1 month and 9 days, died near
             Forbestown, Calif., 1 Feb 1862.

 

5 Apr 1862:

Calvin Otrich, son of Henry Otrich deceased, aged 9 years, died last Saturday (29 Mar 1862).

A child, aged 10 years, drowned at Cairo, Alexander County, 2 Apr 1862.

 

12 Apr 1862:

Son of Syrian Davis, aged 10 years, died 4 Apr 1862.

Eli Davis, son of Syrian Davis, died about one year ago.

Mr. J.A. Galup, aged about 35 years, died of typhoid fever last Saturday (5 Apr 1862).

  

19 Apr 1862:

Captain Stewart was killed. (He was later reported not killed.) (See also 26 Apr 1862, issue.)

 

3 May 1862:

William McGowie, of Lawrence County and the 63rd Illinois, was shot Sunday night (27 Apr 1862).

Matthew M.D. McClure, of Alexander County, aged 60 years and 3 months, died 23 Apr 1862.

 

10 May 1862:

F.M. Sumner, aged about 32 years, was murdered Saturday night (3 May 1862).

 

31 May 1862:

George Lethard, aged 12 or 13 years, was killed by his brother with a ball bat Tuesday afternoon.

A woman posing as a soldier in Capt. Crane's company, 14th Iowa, committed suicide at Cairo,

Alexander County, Saturday (25 Apr 1863).

 

16 May 1863:

Hannah Frick, consort of Paul Frick, aged 43 years and 4 months, died of congestive chills Thursday

morning (14 May 1863).
