Minnie Pruett, daughter of W. and C.C. Pruett, of Dongola, aged 2 years, died 12 Dec 1873.

George Brush was killed in Carbondale, Jackson County, by J.W. McDonald Saturday (13 Dec 1873).

George Bulliner was killed in Carbondale, Jackson County, 12 or 13 Dec 1873) by Thomas J. “Tom”

Russell, who had his 12-year prison sentence commuted in 1891. He had been in Chester penitentiary since 10 Apr 1884 and was to be set free 10 Jul 1891. Russell was born on Eight Mile Prairie 1 Feb 1851, the third son of Jefferson Russell. Bulliner was the father of five sons, David Bulliner (killed 27 Mar 1874), John Bulliner, Monroe Bulliner, George Bulliner, and Emanuel Bulliner. They were allied with the sons of William Crain, William J. “Big Jep” and Marshall T. Crain, and the son of Jasper Crain, William J. “Black Bill” Crain. They were feuding with the Russells, Hendersons, and Sisneys. James Henderson was killed 13 May 1874, by James Norris. Vincent Hinchcliff was killed 3 Oct 1874. George W. Sisney was killed 28 Jul 1875. William Spence was killed 31 Jul 1875 by Marshall T. Crain, who was hanged in Marion, Williamson County, 21 Jan 1876. (See also 12 Apr 1884, 18 Apr 1891, issues.)

James Crowell, of Jonesboro, aged about 20 years, son of Charles Crowell, died two miles west of

Jonesboro of consumption 26 Dec 1873.
